Located in the west of Henan Province, the famous Funiu Mountains (fú niú shān 伏牛山) is an important part of the geographical division of Northern China and Southern China. Funiu Mountains boast of the largest forest, the highest forest coverage and the richest biologic sources of Henan, extending vigorously for 400 kilometers, and also of the highest average altitude and the largest acreage among all the mountains in the Province. Funiu Mountains, among with the Yangtze River (yáng zǐ jiāng 扬子江) which is also called Changjiang River (zhǎng jiāng 长江) , Yellow River (huáng hé 黄河) , Huaihe River (huái hé 淮河) and some of the three major tributaries, constitute the he birthplace of the importance of water conservation forest.

The Mountain Resort (bì shǔ shān zhuāng 避暑山庄), located in the city of Chengde (chéng dé 承德) in northeastern Hebei province, is China’s largest imperial garden. Twice the size of Beijing’s Summer Palace, construction spanned nearly ninety years, beginning under Emperor Kangxi (kāng xī 康熙) in 1703 and lasting through the greater part of Emperor Qianlong’s (qián lóng 乾隆) reign. The Mountain Resort often saw use as a de facto second capital as Kangxi set a precedent followed by Qianlong and a succession of other Qing emperors of spending much of the year at the garden. It used to be a summer resort and hunting ground for emperors of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). They also used the palace to organize martial art competitions and receive the elite of ethnic minority groups from around China. In 1994, the Mountain Resort became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Chen Yau-tz, of the Sung dynasty (sòng cháo 宋朝), was a very talented archer. He hit the bull's eye every time, and so everyone called him "The Magic Archer." Chen Yau-tz felt that he was the best archer in the world, and so he was very proud.

        
Pine (sōng 松), bamboo (zhú 竹) and plum (méi 梅)have always been regarded by Chinese people as the most beloved plants because they all thrive through the cold-winter days, just like friends who cherish the same ideas welcoming the advent of the spring together. For this very reason, they are called “ Three Friends in Cold Weather (suì hán sān yǒu 岁寒三友)”, symbolizing the noble characters esteened and pursued by Chiese people.

Peking University is a comprehensive and national key university. The campus, known as "Yan Yuan"（the garden of Yan）, is situated at Haidian District in the western suburb of Beijing, with a total area of 2,743,532 square metres (or 274 hectares). It stands near to the Yuanmingyuan Garden and the Summer Palace.
