According to the deduction by the geologists, the grotto in Yilingyan Scenic Area is shaped before one million years ago. It covers an area of 24000 square meters, including more than 100 scenic spots. The stalagmites, stone curtains and flowers are in various shapes, and they are absolutely lifelike. At the entrance of the cave, there are two lions standing at both sides. It seems that they are welcome the tourists from afar. Walk along the path, you can see a so-called ceiba, golden ears of rice piled up like a hill, and lots of corns and various vegetable and fruits, which are formed naturally by the stalactite. In front of these spots, there is a zigzag narrow path, leading to a higher place---- that is the Air Corridor (kōng zhōng zǒu láng 空中走廊). At the end of the corridor, there is a vaulted hall. Stalactites are hanging there, stone pillars are standing tall and upright. The hall is like a thick forest, full of all kinds of stalactites.
Besides, there are monkeys in the woods and forests in the scenic area. Climbing up the hill, you can get a bird’s view of the beautiful scenery of the green fields. All these will make you relax and forget the noise of the city. Yilingyan Scenic Area
