Courses and Programs Introduction

China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) offers various undergraduate, graduate, doctorate degree programs for international students.

Undergraduate Study

Undergraduate Programs includes 16 majors, such as Law, Sociology, Administrative Management, International Politics, Political and Administration Science, Public Affairs Management, Business Management, Economics, International Commerce, Philosophy, Legal Journalism, Chinese Language, English, German and others

Undergraduate programs are only available in Chinese language, students whose Chinese language is not suitable for taking classes in Chinese, can first apply for CUPL’s Chinese Language Preparatory Foundation Course.  

Graduate Study

Master Programs includes 34 majors, such as Legal Theory, Legal History, Constitution and Administrative Law, Criminal Law, Civil and Commercial Law, Procedure Law, Economic Law, Theory of Political Science, Chinese and Overseas Political System, International Relations, Administrative Management, Politics and Economy, Enterprise Management, Law and Economy, Logics, Comparative Law, Applied Psychology, Chinese Philosophy, Foreign Philosophy, Economy History, International Economy, Industrial Economy, Human Rights Law, Evidence Law, Legal Language, International Politics, Sociology, English Language, Journalism, Chinese Modern History, Accounting.

Master programs are available in Chinese language. Mater of Law (LLM) and Master of International Economic Law are also available in English. Students who could not meet Chinese language requirement can join Chinese Language Preparatory Program first and after successfully passing all exams can apply for Master Degree.

Doctorate programs

Doctorate Programs cover 16 research areas, which include Legal Theory, Legal History, Constitution and Administrative Law, Criminal Law, Civil and Commercial Law, Procedure Law, Economic Law, Environment and Resource Economy, Comparative Law, International Economy, Human Rights, Evidence Law and Chinese and Overseas Political Systems.

Doctorate programs are available in Chinese Language. Doctor of International Economic Law is also available in English.

Requirements

International students should meet should meet CUPL special requirements for successful application.

Undergraduate Study:

Applicants for Undergraduate Program are required to provide:

1.     High School Graduation Diploma and Transcript of Academic record ( original or notarized copy).

2.     HSK Level 4( or higher) Certificate. Students who didn’t obtain HSK Level 4 Certificate can participate in CUPL Chinese Language Examination, which are held every June.

Graduate Study

Applicants for Graduate Programs are required to :

1.     Provide Bachelor’s degree Diploma and Transcript of Academic Record

2.     Applicants age should be under 40

3.     Applicants should pass entrance examinations, such as Interview and etc ( depend on applicants major) 

4.     HSK Level 5 (or higher)

Doctorate Programs

Applicants for Doctorate Programs are required to:

1. Provide Master’s degree or equivalent degree Diploma (6 years or above after obtaining the Bachelor degree ).

 2.  Applicants age should be under 45,

3.  Applicants should pass entrance examinations, such as Interview and etc ( depend on applicants major) 

4. HSK Level 5 (or higher)

Undergraduate Program: RMB660

Graduate and Doctorate Program: RMB800

APPLICATION

1. Application Period

Undergraduate programs Application Period starts from March 5^th until July 5^th.

Master Degree programs Application Period starts from January 1^st till April 1^st.  Application period depends on Applicants Major and type of the Program. Doctorate programs Application Period starts from January 1^st till January 31^st.

Undergraduate Program:

①   Completed application form ( Application Form can be downloaded from our web-sitehttp://gate.cupl.edu.cn/gjjyxy)

②   One photocopy of your valid passport

③   Four two-inch photos.

④ Official transcript of your academic record up to the present( original documents or notarized copies in Chinese or English)

⑤ High school graduation diploma.(students expecting to graduate should provide an official letter stating expected graduation date)

⑥ Copy of CERTIFICATE OF CHINESE PROFICIENCY (HSK) Level 4.

3. Visa support

After successfully Application, students will receive letter of Enrolment. Students will be provided with Visa Application for Study in China Form (JW202) and Letter of Admission). After students receive this documentation, they are expected to contact PRC (Chinese) Embassy in their own country to apply for Students Visa in China (Visa X).

SCHOLARSHIPOPPORTUNITIES

There are two types of Scholarship that International Students can  apply  for:

1.     CSC or Chinese Government Scholarship covers Tuition Fee, Accommodation Fee and Living Cost (1700 yuan per month) is provided by Chinese Government. For more Information please visitwww.csc.edu.cn web-site.

2.     Beijing Government Scholarship is provided for International student and covers only Tuition fees. Beijing Government Scholarship can be applied only after enrolment at October every year. More information athttp://gate.cupl.edu.cn/gjjyxy

REGISTRATION

   The applicants who are accepted by CUPL should register in the beginning of studying semester on a fix date ( registration date is changed every year, so students will be informed in advance). During the Registration Day student should pay Tuition Fee, accommodation fee and insurance fee for International Students ( if student did not arrange health coverage before).
