You are an exchange student if UIBE has signed a study abroad program or exchange study agreement with your academic institution. Please check here for our updated list of exchange agreements. If you don't find your University in the list, don't worry, it only means you are a non-exchange student.
A) Exchange students are required to submit their applications to UIBE's Department of International Relations (DIR), it's best if you go through your originating University.
B) A letter of recommendation, signed by a faculty/staff member of your originating UNiversity is required before consideration by the department of international relations.

For exchange student candidates only, the application materials will be copied and the originals sent to the School of International Education (SIE), which is responsible for admissions processing of all international students, both exchange and non-exchange students. The procedures to follow:
Exchange students are those nominated by the institutions which have student exchange agreement with UIBE. Contact the International Office of your home institution for information and submit application through them to the Department of International Relations of UIBE.

2. Choose a program
UIBE offers both degree and non-degree programs to international students.

Note: Study under most of the exchange programs except the dual-degree programs will not lead to a UIBE degree. For dual-degree students, please contact the International Office of the sending institutions. List of dual-degree programs.
3. Submit your application
Deadline for Application:
For fall semester (approximately late August or early September to late December or mid January): April 10 -June 10.
For Spring semester (approximately late February or early March to late mid July):October 8 -November 30.
For Degrees programs with English as the language of instruction, please check with the Program Manager of the specific programs, for example: School of International Trade & Economics, School of Business .
What else you need to do :
Arrange and purchase your health insurance.
Apply for a student visa.
Pack your things.
UIBE has a clinic that with you student ID you will get some physical examinations and medical service but you are still required to have medical coverage for you may be transferred to some hospitals for serious sickness and operations.
You can find health insurance in your own country, or go through UIBE's selected health insurance provider when you register.
Please go to the nearest Chinese Consulate with your passport, visa application form, letter of admission and JW202 form and other required documents for student visa application. The visas shall be “X” or “F” according to the period of study.
Check your package and make sure that you have the followings with you:
Passport with valid visa
Letter of Admission
JW202 form
Approval of your health insurance or physical examinations
Credit cards and cash of RMB 1500 for housing deposit and personal use upon arrival.
Clothes and other personal daily-use products.
