Why Tsinghua?
Located on the site of “Qing Hua Yuan” in Haidian District, Beijing, Tsinghua University was founded in 1911, formerly known as a royal garden of Qing Dynasty. The campus is famous for its beautiful surroundings embraced by shady trees and time-honored architectural complexes with different features and styles, in which “Shui Mu Qing Hua” has a long history of reputation. It is listed as one of the 14 of the world's most beautiful college campuses by Forbes Magazine in 2010, the only one from Asia.
Graduate Programs in English
In the academic year 2012 - 2013, Tsinghua University will offer 11 Master programs and one Doctoral program in English. The programs are developed delicately for the applicants who are skilled in English but do not have Chinese language proficiency. Owing to the high quality and unique features, the programs have been attractive since their establishment several years ago. In Fall 2011, more than 250 international students are newly enrolled in the programs.
Visiting/Exchange Student Programs
Currently, Tsinghua University has established Agreements or MOUs with over 90 foreign universities on student exchange. The departments / schools of Tsinghua University have also cooperative relationship with overseas universities.
Foreign students who are willing to take courses or do research at Tsinghua as a visiting student may apply to Foreign Student Affairs Office, Tsinghua University as well.
Chinese Language Program
The Chinese Language Program serves to promote the Chinese language throughout the world and to help people in other countries acquire a better understanding of China. Any qualified foreigner, overseas Chinese, or compatriot from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan may apply to Foreign Student Affairs Office, Tsinghua University for this program.
Scholarships
International students of Tsinghua University may apply for Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS), Beijing Government Scholarship (BGS), or Tsinghua University Scholarship (TUS). The scholarships are categorized into full scholarships and partial scholarships.
Campus Service
The on-campus accom-modation is operated by the Zijing Property Management Center of Tsinghua University, the students dormitories offer three types of rooms to international students.
