Pottery signifies the entry into the Neolithic Age in terms of human civilization. This was evidence that man started to settle down in the areas for inhabitation. The invention of pottery satisfies many needs in daily life, a big contribution to the traditional agricultural society. As a unique and important carrier, pottery can be preserved for thousands of years due to its firmness and stability; it carries a lot of information, about the level of ancient productivity, the primitive society, technology and art. Pottery collections are important in CAM, including painted pottery, white pottery, black pottery, glazed colored pottery, and tri-colored glazed pottery of the Tang Dynasty. Except for painted pottery, most is funerary (burial) ware.
