3. Basic Requirements for Application
1. Foreign nationality with valid passport.
2. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.
3. Good Health
4. Students with New HSK Band 5 certificate will be exempted from the entrance examination

Materials
(Documents must be prepared in either Chinese or English. No application materials will be returned to candidate regardless of acceptance or not.)
l BUU Application Form must be completed on line.
l A copy of highest graduation certificate, degree certificate and transcripts (Originals must be produced)
l Personal statement (including personal study plan, working experiences, study research in Chinese or English, at least 1,000 words)
l A copy of HSK Certificate (Originals must be produced)
l Two reference letters from the applicant’s associate professors or professors
l A copy of passport details
l Two recent passport photos (without hat on), white background
l A copy of Chinese Proficiency Test New HSK 5
5. Entrance Examinations
Time: Taken in May each year
Content of Test: 1 Written examination (in both Chinese and English)

6. Remedial Courses:
In order to help students adapt to the Chinese academic environment as quickly as possible, BUU offers remedial courses for students to improve Chinese level in specific areas. To participate in these remedial courses, students admitted into the Master programs offered in Chinese must arrive at BUU in good time before Master program begins. These remedial courses are not included in the credits leading to the Master’s Degree. However, students who have just graduated from a relative Bachelor program and have similar disciplinary knowledge background, can apply for an exemption from remedial courses.
