South China Normal University is an institution of higher learning with a long history and a rich legacy. Situated in Guangzhou, an open metropolis in South China, the University is imbued with Lingnan’s pioneering and pragmatic spirit. It has a tradition of elegant simplicity and a favourable learning atmosphere. In the past seventy years or so, the University has all along preserved its distinguishing characteristics, mainly concentrating on teacher-education and training, and has dedicated itself to training qualified teachers and professionals of other kind, viz., outstanding personnel of moral integrity, high thinking, inventive ability, with a sense of responsibility.

华南师范大学始建于1933 年，是一所哲学、经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、管理学等学科齐全的省属重点大学，是广东省属高校中唯一的国家“211 工程”重点建设大学。学校现有广州石牌、广州大学城和南海 3 个校区，占地面积共 3059 多亩， 校舍面积共 126万平方米，其中多功能信息化图书馆 3 座，总建筑面积达 8.8 万平方米 ，藏书 305 多万册。校园环境优美，景色怡人，人文景观遍布，文化气息浓厚，为广大师生提供了良好的学习、工作和生活环境

国际文化学院前身是中国语言文化中心。迄今为止，已有来自遍及 5大洲，近50个国家的数千名外国留学生在我院学习。我院对外汉语师资力量雄厚，具有博士学位者13人，占60%，所有教师都拥有对外汉语教师资格证书。学院拥有一座2002年落成的6层教学大楼，是广东省内最现代化的留学生教学大楼，共有面积8000平方米，教室43间。2005年已建成一栋13层的留学生宿舍楼，床位近800个，房间内配有完善的生活设施，有卫生间、空调、电视与互联网接口，为留学生创造了良好的学习生活环境。同时，我院还承办非来华留学生教育及涉外合作教育项目，如中外合作办学、英语培训、海外游学团以及国家职业汉语能力测试等教育及考试项目。截至2007年冬，中外合作办学项目已培养了80多名毕业生。

Cantonese language program

Cantonese as a regional dialect originally in the Pearl River Delta, which is the Southern part of Guangdong Province, of which Guangzhou is the capital city. In the past around century, with the spreading of people to nearly all parts of the world, Cantonese is also widely used next to the standard Chinese, which is also known as Mandarin.
As our university is located in the center of the dialect region, the offering of such course is an extra advantage for us and we have native speakers to teach such courses. Due to the demand of such course, now only elementary class is available, i.e. class for Cantonese beginners.

The university has 24 colleges and 1 department. The subjects include Chinese language, Foreign language, History, politics,law, education, Mathematics, computer, economy, management, physical education,biology,information,Physics,Geography,Fine Arts,Music,tourism etc.
South China Normal University enjoys some international reputation. Lots of foreign students come here to study Chinese language and other specialties or subjects every year

专业课程、考试及培训介绍：

1．语言学习班。根据学生的汉语水平分为初级、中级与高级班。必修课程一般为精读、听说、阅读、视听、应用写作、汉语语法、高级汉语、中国文化等。选修课程有HSK（初级、中级、高级）辅导、粤语和太极拳、中国歌曲、普通话语音培训、对外汉语师资培训、商贸汉语班、羽毛球、汉字、中国功夫，电脑等。
2．汉语言文化本科专业。下辖三个方向：师范、汉语言文化与商贸。
